We have set out to aid those who need it most. OneLove Foundation is here to help, and we believe that change is possible when we put our hearts and minds to it.

About OneLove Foundation

Turning Interest into Action

Here at OneLove Foundation, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2022 we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Women Empowerment NGO upon: support, empowerment and progress.

Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. OneLove Foundation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.

An Inspiring Story

January 22, 2022

My name is Luthando, and when my mother married a 70-year-old guy at the age of 12, it was OK because everyone before her had taken the same route. Her health has gotten worse over time, and since my father, who was the only provider, passed away, there was no hope for me or my siblings to go to school or receive an education. She quickly gave birth to me a year later, and the following year and soon she was a mother of seven.
Initiative Interventions:The girls in my school and I both received sanitary products and education on reproductive health thanks to OneLove Foundation. My understanding of myself and the typical changes taking place in my body has improved.I'm relieved that I can attend class without worrying about peeing myself, and I'm glad that I can spend as much time reading and studying as the boys in my class.
Result:I recently became a member of Girls Club, a mentoring program conducted by OneLove Foundation to give girls life skills and character development.I'm astounded by how much I'm discovering about my potential and the fact that, with enough self-confidence, I can become anything. I am working very hard to qualify for the OneLove foundation Scholarship Fund because I am very interested in what the future holds for me. Says Luthando.

Making A Difference

February 22, 2022

Stella didn't have a thorough understanding of menstruation as a child. It was quite challenging for her to obtain regular sanitary pads to meet her monthly needs because she comes from a disadvantaged home. It is tough to even ask my parents for sanitary pads, which seem to be a secondary requirement, because they barely have enough money to support my brothers and I. I am frequently compelled to utilize a piece of fabric or a mattress. I spend the majority of my time at home doing tasks like getting water, cooking, and getting firewood, she continued. "Missing 5 school days each month has significantly lowered my performance. My grades suffered because I had to stay at home while my peers, particularly the lads, were attending class, the woman claims.
Programs like OneLove Foundation have significantly rescued her and other girls. My life has never been the same since OneLove Foundation began their initiatives in our school, I can honestly say that. They have consistently given me sanitary pads every month. I no longer long for class time! You cannot possibly believe how much better my grades are now, and I can even teach other ladies how to use sanitary pads. I have such faith that I will realize my goals, Stella exclaimed with a smile.
Stella attends one of the 10 schools in Gauteng Pretoria that are a part of our programs. These schools are situated in a low-income area, where most parents place a higher value on their sons' education than their daughters. They also lack the means to meet the needs of the girl children, such as providing sanitary towels for them. We carry out our activities to close the gap and make sure more girls have the opportunity to go to class.
So far, things are going well. We have reached over 3,500 girls by giving them sanitary towels and leadership training sessions. This is a significant step towards finishing their studies. We advocate for the fourth and fifth Sustainable Development Goals, which are gender equality and quality education, respectively. The outcomes have shown us that the future is very promising.

Share Your Story To Help Others

March 22, 2022

Before last year in class, when it suddenly dawned to me, I had never heard of the menstrual cycle. I was unaware of what was going on in my life. My school uniform was soiled by bleeding that I had. When we distributed sanitary pads and underwear in FF Rebeiro Primary School on March 22, Tebogo, a class 7 student, said, "I felt so embarrassed and hurried to Mrs. Matlebyane who locked me in the staff room and subsequently bought Sanitary pads for me."
Tebogo from FF Rebeiro Primary School inserted ", I live with my grandmother because I am an orphan and she struggles to pay my rent and cannot afford to purchase me sanitary pads, so I have no alternative but to use a rag or cloth while I go through my periods. This has been a norm for me since I had started my periods and I have not been attending school because I am afraid that my school uniform will be soiled with blood when I stand up or even when am just sitting down on my chair, I am afraid that other students may make a fun of me.
Your foundation will be a huge help to all of us who our parents cannot afford to buy us sanitary pads and now I will be able to go to school like other normal kids.

Educate Children About Periods

April 22, 2022

We made contact with more than 500 females in 10 primary schools. For the duration of a whole school term, each girl received 3 packages of sanitary pads and 2 inner wears. The girls were really excited and welcomed us with open arms. Teachers accompanied each of the 500 girls. To help with the project, volunteers joined the team.Girls were taught how to use sanitary pads and maintain a good standard of hygiene while having their periods as part of the mentoring program. Following the training, the girls sent representatives who confidently demonstrated how to use the pads. Monica, a class 8 student at Gatang Secondary School, said, "It was really nice for me to learn about how to use Sanitary towels without assuming and even helping teach the other ladies.
Girls should be willing to take a stand and have the confidence to speak in front of an audience without blushing. You will have the chance to live your aspirations if you work hard in your education. Self-esteem is a process that we must engage in continuously throughout the day; it is not a thing we can buy.
Girls are now able to complete their education without missing any classes because of periods. Since they can confidently share their opinions now that they have knowledge of leadership techniques, their lives have been revolutionized. "Since you last visited, I have been diligently studying what you taught us about confidence and self-esteem, and I am no longer afraid to approach my professors or my parents," Tebogo.
